Lizzy Margiotta is an art and design director based in Los Angeles. She began her formal training by studying advertising and graphic design at Loyola in New Orleans, in the midst of hurricane Katrina. Lizzy was AIGA student president and heavily involved in the chapter after graduation. She began her design career at iamalwayshungry under owner and typography expert Nessim Higson. Years later she relocated to New York City to become an art director at Chiat Day, creating campaigns for Absolut, Accenture and Heineken. Sunny California was calling, however, so she packed up her bags and moved to LA for an art director position at Prologue Films. While there, Lizzy learned to enhance the art of the title sequence under owner Kyle Cooper. Lizzy’s passion for alternative typography, gritty textures and bold use of color elevate her designs wherever she goes. As a freelancer in Los Angeles she has dabbled in key art, motion graphics and entertainment branding. She has also partnered with copywriters on large campaigns and brand books and large agencies. She’s currently a Senior Art Director at Pulsar where her main client is the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. You can find her work decorating buses and trains around the city.

Lizzy’s designs have been featured on a variety of online and print publications including Print Magazine and her branding work for the Young Guns 9 competition was featured in the Communication Arts Typography Annual. You can find her surfing in Venice or hiking around Malibu. She’s the girl with the whale tattoo.
